Why fat transfer?
Most people have some area on the body with excess fat. For many, it is the outer thighs. For others it may be the waist. This procedure reduces volume in areas with excess fat, and restores volume to areas that need it, using that excess. Cosmetic fillers have a similar purpose, but fillers don’t last as long.
What areas can be treated with fat transfer?
The thighs, hips, buttocks, waist, breast and face can all be treated. It can also be used to revise scars.
Who’s a good candidate?
People not satisfied with the fullness of their breasts, buttocks and other areas are generally good candidates.
What about recovery?
Fat transfer is generally well-tolerated by patients. It is a safe procedure with low risk of side effects. Some cosmetic procedures involve injecting or placing a foreign substance in the body. Fat transfer is “autologous,” meaning that the materials being used to enhance your figure come from your own body. This decreases the chance of things like allergic reactions and other complications.
